Well here I set with one of the greatest self advocates I’ve ever known. We didn’t get to talk much today because she was tired ( so I did most of the talking). At about 3:45 Lucy looked up and I knew she was leaving this earth. At 3:45 she went to meet her hunny Jim and say hi to her friends and family that went on before her. We all have our special names and our funny memories that we will keep forever. It is never easy to lose a family member but today a skilsters got her wings.

Shirley “Lucy” Crouch was one of the best self advocate we have ever known. She was determined and driven to get what she felt she needed to live independently. We are proud of all she accomplished! We are so sad to of lost such a powerful force from the self advocacy world.

The Celebration of Life will be July 6th at 10:00am. The service will be held at the Carson Wall funeral home in Parsons, KS. There will be a family graveside service in Garnett KS later that day.
