Due to the potential spread of the Corona Virus, all SKIL Offices will be closed to visitors and the general public until further notice.

SKIL staff will continue providing services while the offices are closed. Any time sheet received past 10:00 am on Paydays WILL pay the FOLLOWING pay date.

So far, 245 people have urged the party representatives at Friday’s National Forum on Disability Issues to talk about MR v Dreyfus, Olmstead, Medicaid and Medicaid reform.  
Over half of the responses were from New York.

KDHE, KUMC Launch New Website for Young Adults with Disabilities

Topeka, Ks - The Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) program at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and the Center for Child Health and Development at KU Medical Center collaborated to develop the Building a Life website as a guide that can help families and professionals assist young adults with disabilities in moving from dependence to independence in their community. Heather Smith, KDHE-CYSHCN health planning consultant, said “The information on this site will assist with decisions ranging from where young adults can live, to how they will make a living, manage their own health and more.” The website is available at www.buildingalife.ku.edu
