ADAPT will celebrate its 25th anniversary this spring in Washington, D.C. from April 26 to May 2. A variety of events throughout the week will commemorate this occasion.The 2nd ADAPT Fun Run/Roll will be held, with Marca Bristo as the Honorary National Runner/Roller. Also, "When You Remember Me," the made for TV film that chronicles Wade Blank's work freeing youth from a Denver nursing home will be shown. Other planned events include ADAPT Jeopardy, "Tales around the Campfire" with Mark Johnson, a live retrospective show and live music by the likes of Elaine Kolb, Diane Coleman and Johnny Crescendo, a barbecue dinner with remarks by former Rep. Pat Schroeder, who was there on the Denver streets with ADAPT, and possibly remarks by Andrew Young. There will be two large rooms of multimedia ADAPT historical displays, including blow-ups of 50 incredible photos taken by Tom Olin, longtime ADAPT photographer and chronicler of the disability movement. Also displayed will be every T-shirt from every ADAPT action during the past 25 years, artifacts, memorabilia, and first person accounts of every action, videos, slides, music.  ADAPT is expecting the Road to Freedom Bus and displays. It will be a week of disability history, disability culture, and disability family.Visit ADAPT’s official anniversary website for more details.
