Mark Schlesener, the Finance Manager for SKIL Resource Center explains the newest customer advantage at SKIL Resource Center. Electronic W2 forms will be available as a security and convenience feature to all people working as Direct Support Workers.

W2 forms are scheduled to be out in January. SKIL is working with a company by the name CIC Plus.

CIC Plus' system is web-based with both employer and employee specialized components. Active and terminated employees can access their secure data 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Employees can easily register for an electronic tax statement, request a reissue, or submit a correction via a SKIL specific URL.

CIC Plus is an employee self-service solution provider that delivers customizable services catering to a wide range of industries.

SKIL is offering this electronic option to employees working as DSW (Direct Support Workers). This creates a dual benefit of providing employee self-service while reducing the time and money spent on servicing employees.

SKIL is also being more environmentally friendly by reducing individual and company-wide carbon footprints. Through data warehousing and the various electronic services being offered, we act as a virtual file cabinet for our clients and their employees’ information.

The electronic files can be downloaded by several tax preparers and placed in a person's return automatically. For example, "If you want to use H and R Block, Jackson Hewitt or Turbo Tax you don't even have to print off your W2. They can actually upload the information into the 1040 tax form."

People will need to get a login and pass word information at

Some of the advantages to this system include address correction information. SKIL plans to deliver W2 forms between the third and fourth week in January. Actual dead line date is January Thirty-first. Mark explained the process, "We send our file to CIC on January Twentieth. It is between three and five days to process that."

With individuals covering the entire state of Kansas this is a more "real time" option. People will not have to wait for the mail service to deliver the forms. And the electronic format is compatible with most tax preparation services.

Mailing options are still available for individuals that prefer it. If you have a change of address, it would be best to notify SKIL as soon as possible but especially before the file is sent to CIC on the twentieth of January.
