We went for 3 days of camping, racing, and hanging out with the guys. Bill says it is the best time he has ever had. I selected Bill because he is always eager to help people on a volunteer basis and I wanted to treat him to an experience he might not ever have again. I think it is important to make sure that the folks who put out, getting nothing in return monetary wise, should be recognized and rewarded for their efforts. They may not expect anything in return, but they still need to be rewarded for what they do. Sometimes you might not be able to provide a show of appreciation on this level due to financial issues, but you can show in other ways such as a thank you. You would be surprised how it might make somebody feel to hear you brag about how helpful they are to you and how much it means to you to have somebody like that in your life.

Although Bill doesn’t know that much about NASCAR, he picked up on the basics really quickly. Bill was very helpful to me when it came to helping push me around in my chair when my arms gave out. I wanted to be sure he got recognition for all that he did to make my experience a little less stressful and it made me feel good to be able to treat him to an event of this magnitude. When you do something like this at a level that somebody is not used to experiencing, it makes you feel good just to see they are enjoying every minute of the entire trip. This is a picture of Bill in his new Dale Earnhart jacket that he purchased with his own money at the track. We camped with over 150,000 people in a camper city, and sat at turn 1 past the finish line just feet away from the track. I’m glad I got to be the one to expose Bill to a lifetime memory of this magnitude. This is the second year I have taken somebody to the races for a good time and it makes me feel good every time to be the one to expose them to something they might not have gotten any other way.
